State Bar of Texas - Local Bar Leaders Conference

The State Bar of Texas, the Texas Young Lawyers Association, and the Texas Access to Justice Commission invite local bar association leaders to the July 25-26, 2024 Local Bar Leaders Conference at the Westin Galleria Houston. COMPLIMENTARY DELEGATE REGISTRATIONS & ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS 

The LCYLA Board of Directors shall select Delegates from submitted applications. 

Applicants must (1) be Dues-paying Members of LCYLA in good-standing and (2) submit a complete and timely Application (Application Deadline - June 1 at 11:59PM). 

Complimentary delegate registrations are available to each association that wants to attend. Complimentary delegates must meet attendance requirements to be eligible for everything that is included with registration.

• At-Large Delegate: Each association may send one member as their At-Large Delegate. At-Large Delegates are required to attend and sign into at least five breakouts during the conference. At-Large Delegates from TYLA affiliates are required to attend the TYLA: Supporting Uncommon Affiliates breakout. This delegate type is open to ALL associations.
• Access to Justice Delegate: Each association may send one member as their Access to Justice Delegate. Access to Justice Delegates are required to attend and sign into all of the Access to Justice Breakouts on Friday. This delegate type is open to ALL associations.
• TYLA Affiliate Delegate: Each young lawyer affiliate may send two additional members as their TYLA Affiliate Delegates. TYLA Affiliate Delegates are required to attend and sign into four of six TYLA breakouts. This delegate type is only available to official TYLA affiliates.
• Executive Director Delegate: Executive Directors of an association are also invited to attend the conference. This delegate type is only available to executive directors on staff with an association.

 WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH COMPLIMENTARY DELEGATE REGISTRATIONS 

If attendance requirements are met, complimentary delegates receive the following:

• Conference Registration – This $150 value gives you access to all conference meals and events (Thursday lunch, Friday breakfast, and Friday lunch).
• Two nights at the Westin Galleria Houston – Delegates may book additional nights at the $169 per night rate but are responsible for payment of any additional nights. If attendance requirements are not met, delegates will be responsible for their entire hotel charge.
• Travel Reimbursement* – Delegates will be reimbursed for travel expenses up to a specified dollar amount depending on the distance from their home to the Westin Galleria Houston. The mileage rate is $0.67 per mile. Travel reimbursements may not exceed capped amounts listed below (including airfare). If attendance requirements are not met, delegates will not be eligible for travel reimbursement.

ADDITIONAL DELEGATE REGISTRATIONS 

If associations use all of their available complimentary delegate registrations, additional delegates are encouraged to register but are responsible for their conference registration fee ($150) and hotel charges. They are not eligible for travel expense reimbursements.
